The Grange School is a co-educational secondary school in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England. It is a foundation school, which takes children from the age of 11 through to the age of 18. Derby: Breedon Books〕 The school is also notable as the location where the jury retired to consider their verdict in the Great Train Robbery case in 1963. Specifically the jury used the room that is now the main office of the youth centre on the school site. A more notorious former pupil is Samantha Louise Lewthwaite, also known as Sherafiyah Lewthwaite or the White Widow, who has been implicated in terrorist activity, linked to Somali Islamist group al-Shabab and currently wanted by Interpol. The Grange is a member of the Aylesbury Vale Leading Edge Partnership which also includes Aylesbury Vale Academy and Waddesdon Church of England School.〔(【引用サイトリンク】publisher=DfES )〕 The uniform at Grange for KS3 is a navy blue jumper with the school logo, sky blue polo shirt with logo, smart black trousers or knee length black skirt and smart shoes.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=School Uniform )〕 KS4 students wear a black skirt or trousers with a blue shirt and blazer with optional tie and a blazer. Sixth form students wear clothing suitable for office wear - suits for boys and smart clothing for girls. Prior to the recent changes, the uniform was more traditional with black V-neck jumpers, white shirts and a tie. Before the current headmaster Mr. Vince Murray was appointed, the school underwent several years of temporary headmasters/mistresses due to the leaving of the school's long serving headmaster, Mr Alan Silver, who had to leave his position due to deterioration of health. As of 2008 The Grange achieved healthy school status as the canteen within the school serves a wide variety of healthy and nutritious foods and drinks. The school has extensive facilities including a Mathematics department, English department, Science department, ICT suites, Technology department, Performing Arts department, Humanities department (Religious Studies, Geography & History), Practical Arts department, Fitness Suite, Sports Hall, Main Hall, Canteen, Sixth Form Common Rooms, All-Weather Pitch, Language department, Business department, Support for Learning department, Health & Social department, Physical Education classrooms and a Music department with practise rooms.
